TASCON GmbH

TASCON GmbH is a service provider in the area of surface analysis. TASCON offers services in three main areas: characterisation of surfaces by modern analytical techniques, technical consulting with respect to surfaces (including research co-operations) and training in the area of surface analysis.

The focus technique is Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (surface mass spectrometry, ToF-SIMS) which allows a detailed and laterally resolved analysis of the elemental and molecular composition of surfaces. Under certain circumstances additionally three dimensional data can be obtained.

The materials which can successfully be analysed include glasses, semi-conductors, metals, ceramics, polymers as well as synthetic and organic tissues. Liquids (e.g. cell suspensions) can also be analysed when supported by a solid substrate. A detailed planning procedure ensures short through-put times including fast-track services (24h, week-end).

Furthermore we develop specialised data base systems for use in surface analysis (expert systems). Our customer base includes both SMEs as well as larger companies and research organisations from Germany and neighbouring European countries.

TASCON has invested in state-of-the-art instrumentation and well trained personnel. The broad scientific background of our employees allows us to serve various industrial branches. Nevertheless, it is necessary to continuously improve the company's knowledge to serve our customers even better, now and in the future. This is only possible by taking part in research projects probing the frontiers of the current instrumentation and applicational knowledge. Currently, TASCON is participating in the 6th framework program project TOXDROP focusing on "Highly parallel cell culture in nanodrops, a new format for high content toxicology cell based assays".
